Russian mafia in Italy

A hotel in the center of Milan. Not far from Piazza Duomo. Hotel of tourists. Foreign, mostly. And so no one pays any attention to that group of Georgians, dressed in designer clothes. They descend from sedans and mingle in the dark and going to the front desk. And 'December 1, 2011. Will be a dozen. All are there to participate in a skhodka (summit). Yes, because they are not just tourists, but vory v zakone (thieves in law), the undisputed leaders of the Russian mafia. The story begins like this. And it is a story ever told. A survey, coordinated by prosecutors in Bari, which with 15 arrests this morning puts pen to paper business interests, the balance of a criminal organization that has chosen our country to invest and recycle. In nearly 300 pages to order the investigating judge recounts the story of a conflict. The relationship between the Kutiasi clan, headed by Merab Dzhangveladze said Jango and the clan Tbilisi-Rustavi led by brothers Shushanashvili. A conflict which has a clear objective: to gain a monopoly in the management of obshak (common fund of the clan). A real treasure in 1996 touched 150 million dollars, while according to the latest report of 2010 that the 'Ndrangheta called' basin ', has billions of dollars. Just to understand: now in Russia is believed to operate nine thousand groups or gangs, with an army of a hundred thousand men and as many as 3 million supporters.

Let us go back in the luxurious hotel in Milan and skhodka. The meeting was necessary to resolve a dispute arising out several weeks in Bari protagonist is Revez Tchuradze, Rezo said. In Bari man manages agency shipments to Georgia. The deal is lucrative, because on every package shipped Rezo we earn a bribe. Rezo is a man of the clan Kutiasi. It's not a thief in law. Its charge is to criminal authorities. The business, however, is likely to vanish due to some conflict with another agency due to the rival gang. The result is a disagreement. Better: an attack that resulted in the stabbing of a man of the clan Rustavi. The event takes place in July 2011. Few months later, in Milan, the summit is necessary to pacify the clash. Hence the presence of Rezo. The summit, however, will not get the desired effect. Rezo, in fact, will be killed in the streets in Bari Moro January 6, 2012. Killers shoot two full magazines. The intercepts subsequent ambush better clarify the picture. The investigating magistrate in a quick overview summarizes: "The assassination of Rezo is equivalent to a declaration of war (...) Everything can be solved, but not what happened (...) We have killed a man like a pig (...) He that and he was one of our life such as ours. "

And so the murder of Bari will serve as a litmus test for judges to better delineate the dynamics of the Russian mafia, both inside and outside following the business of recycling across Europe, including Italy. The lens of the investigation narrows and widens following the events of this feud. And so we arrive from Bari to Moscow January 16, 2013, the day when a sniper kills with a Kalashnikov-toting eight shots the historic leader of the clan Rustavi. Nicknamed Grandpa Hassan, the boss is hit in his headquarters, as it is coming from a local. For years he had enjoyed the protection of the Kremlin, protecting that he hoped to maintain the pax mafia. Again the intercepts reveal the principal on Jango, who, on the phone with one of his men in an ironic way recalls the words of the boss killed, who was saying that if they entered Kutiasi in Moscow "the city will be splattered with blood" . Three days later he was killed a lieutenant of Jango.

Why Italy? Comment on a boss: "In Moscow, many thieves in law together could not walk." So here is our country as a goal. The Russian mob arrives. Not today, of course. Infiltrates without making noise. Tightens terms with the Italian mafia. So much to find agreements "with the Calabrian" to organize a summit in their home. But they are in Bari operational bases in England, in Pioltello. In Rome, however, Jango and its battery can count on "huts manned", known by few and defended in a military with a strict control of the territory. Some were discovered in Guidonia, among the villas of luxurious residential complexes.

This is the story to which the Prosecutor of Bari had wanted to give the precise legal connotation of the 416 bis. So you will not. The request, in fact, was rejected by the investigating magistrate who has retrained the indictment in a criminal organization simple. In the end, though, it's just a detail that little room off to the figure of Merab Dzhangveladze Jango said "a man of power - thinks the court - with remarkable budget (...)." Just to understand: in Italy runs with a 5000 cc Mercedes S-Class The gift of an influential friend.
