The bitter lives of children in mines

The bitter lives of children in mines

The Carusi, according to the law, they had to go to work in the mines of sulfur to twelve years, but who came from very poor families were forced to go first.
In southern Italy, more precisely in Sicily, there were Carusi, children working in the mines of sulfur, and that because of fatigue and hardship had the deformed body. Were called so because they did the same work as donkeys, that carried the heavy stuff on the back, some of them were assigned to open and close the doors that separated the fields of mine. They worked about twelve hours a day and the night did not return home, but slept in the mine in a small dark hole with little air. When they came out, after different days could not even bear the light.
They worked in large rooms with little light and is due to the lack of light that fatigue often happened that ruined the hands. They had little time to eat and some did not eat at all because they had to clean the machines. When they returned home it happened that the younger children or the weakest went to sleep on the street and the parents had to go and look, others were able to get home even though they had broken bones but could not even eat with fatigue and put you to sleep now .
Today, as yesterday
In 2012, the police were able to free up in an international operation led by Interpol about 400 children abducted, forced to work in the gold mines in Burkina Faso.
According to Interpol, the kidnapped children were from countries in West Africa. Working in extremely harsh conditions, including tunnels and caves at a depth of 70 meters, where there is little air, and also were not paid and did not receive an education. The children were sent to orphanages to research them a new family and start a new life.
In Coahuila, the state of the confederation of Mexico, as well as 300 children carusi Sicilians were forced to work in the mines. In the latter case, there is use in underground coal mines, situated north of Coahuila.
For money, today as yesterday, the most shameful actions are accomplished: they sell guns, pile up without precaution dangerous substances, trade bodies and even human beings, such as women, young girls and children destined to work as slaves. Nothing is beyond our world around us, because all are human as we are, and why the next to be able to be denied their rights could be just us.
